We often talk about technical excellence as key turning point in overcoming the current serious economic crisis. A not easy ground in a business context almost exclusively made of small companies, like the one in our region. But for those who believe that, the way may represent an important opportunity also to open up to new markets. This is the case of ELECTROSYS srl located in Sferracavallo, Orvieto, a medium-sized company in our area which for years has been designing and manufacturing electronic equipment intended to the telecommunications market. ELECTROSYS, in fact, in order to diversify its production, has recently been awarded a major contract by the prestigious Center for Research on Elementary Particle Physics in Geneva. After over 2 years of study, these days CERN has sent a team of engineers led by Dr. Eric Montesinos with the intent to carry out the final checks (brilliantly overcome) of the first part of the production, to be delivered by the end of 2013. The 8 amplifiers under production will allow the CERN accelerator to restart with data taking with an energy much higher than the current one, in order to verify with greater detail the existence of the Higgs Boson recently discovered by CERN scientists. The final virtuous record is that ELECTROSYS’ important success has been possible thanks also to the role played by the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR PHYSICS (INFN), present in Umbria with the section of Perugia directed by Dr. Pasquale Lubrano.
